Russia will sign a cooperation program with Cuba until 2030

The Russian government will sign with the Cuban authorities a program of trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation for 2023-2030. This is stated in the order of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, which published on the portal of legal acts.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers, as noted in the document, ordered “to accept the proposal of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, agreed with the Russian Foreign Ministry and other interested federal executive authorities” to sign the program. The initiative was also worked out with the Cuban side, the order says.
Deputy Prime Minister and co-chairman of the intergovernmental Russian-Cuban Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation Dmitry Chernyshenko was instructed to sign the program.
In June, Cuban Prime Minister Nicolás Marrero Cruz visited Russia, and also met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian President noted the allied nature of bilateral relations between Russia and Cuba and expressed hope for their further development in a number of areas, including in the field of energy and tourism. Putin also promised assistance to the Prime Minister in the fight against illegal sanctions.
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin at a meeting with Chairman of the National Assembly of People’s Power (local parliament) Juan Esteban Lazo Hernandez called expand cooperation between the two countries in the humanitarian sphere and education.
