Sergei Leonidchenko, head of the legal referent of the Russian permanent mission to the UN, said that one of the ways to solve the problem of non-issuance of American visas to Russian diplomats is to launch an arbitration procedure by UN Secretary General António Guterres.

He clarified that at the moment the representatives of the Russian delegation have not received US visas, which are necessary for participation in various events of the session of the UN General Assembly.

“The United States systematically and deliberately fails to fulfill its international legal obligations. To solve this problem, it is necessary to turn to Secretary General Guterres, who, in turn, must launch the arbitration procedure provided for by Section 21 of the agreement on central institutions,” Leonidchenko said.

According to him, it is necessary to put an end to the failure of the representatives of the White House to fulfill their obligations as a country hosting the UN headquarters.
