Russia to present in Geneva documents on violations by the United States and Ukraine of the Convention on Bioweapons

Russia next week in Geneva will present documents on violations by the United States and Ukraine of international agreements on the prohibition of biological weapons, said Igor Kirillov, head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense forces of the RF Armed Forces.

“At the initiative of the Russian Federation, a meeting of the States Parties to the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons (BTWC) will be held next week on the issue of non-compliance by the United States and Ukraine with obligations under this international treaty. During the event, documentary evidence of their violation of Articles I and IV of the Convention will be presented, ”Kirillov said at a briefing on September 3 (quoted from “RIA News”).

The military added that Russia wants to draw the attention of the world community and organizations responsible for compliance with the Convention to a number of biological threats. Kirillov also said that at present, more than 50 biolaboratories modernized at the expense of the Pentagon are located in close proximity to the borders of Russia. In total, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, 336 biological laboratories in 30 countries of the world are under the control of the US military department, the general added.

In July, the head of the Radiation Chemical and Biological Protection Troops (RCBZ) of the Russian Armed Forces informedthat during the special operation, the Ministry of Defense received a final report on the activities of the US military threat reduction agency (DTRA, a structural division of the Pentagon) in Ukraine. The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said earlier that in the course of the ongoing Russian military operation in Ukraine, facts of cleaning up the traces of the Pentagon-funded military biological program being implemented in the country were discovered.
