Russia requested a meeting of the UN Security Council after the attack by the Ukrainian military on Belgorod. As a result, 14 people were killed and 108 were injured, and dozens of buildings and vehicles were damaged.
“The terrorist attack in Belgorod will be the subject of investigation in the UN Security Council,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
In turn, the first deputy permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, reported in his Telegram channel that Russia is asking to hold a meeting at 23:00 Moscow time today and to invite the permanent representative of the Czech Republic to it. The Russian side wants to demand an explanation from the Czech Republic regarding the supply of ammunition to Ukraine, which is killing civilians.
Earlier, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that it had opened a criminal case on the fact of the shelling of Belgorod under the articles “attempted murder”, “murder”, “deliberate destruction/damage of property”.
It was also reported that a group from the Russian Ministry of Health and the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry flew to Belgorod.
