Russia proposes to allow emergency services to ram interfering cars

State Duma Deputy Sergei Kolunov said that at the end of April – beginning of May a bill will be submitted to the State Duma on the right of emergency services to ram illegally parked cars.

In September 2023, deputies of the State Duma Kolunov Ilya Volfson appealed to the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations with a request not to bring emergency services employees to civil and criminal liability when performing their official duties. For example, ramming a car that interferes with access to burning objects.

They also proposed installing special bumpers on emergency vehicles, which will allow them to pass faster and with minimal damage to equipment.

According to Kolunov, the bill will be submitted to the State Duma in late April or early May. It will affect changes to the Civil and Criminal Codes.
