Most of the Russian driving schools will be forced to close by the end of this year. This forecast was made by the President of the National Union of Associations of Driving Schools Elena Zaitseva. As they writeNews“, this will be the result of a decrease in the flow of customers, as well as an increase in the price of cars and spare parts for them.
The union noted that in the spring of 2022, the number of driver candidates fell by 50 percent compared to pre-Covid times.
“Cars have risen in price, their components too. Cars have become less accessible to people, which means that a driver’s license is not really needed,” Zaitseva noted.
Driving schools that own premises and state contracts for driver training will be able to continue their work. However, tuition prices will inevitably rise.
In turn, the chairman of the board of the Union of Driving Schools of Moscow, Alexander Achkasov, noted that if in the period from 2005 to 2010 120,000 drivers graduated annually in Moscow, now only 70,000.
