Russia, Iran and China to hold joint exercises in the Gulf of Oman

Russia, Iran and China will hold naval exercises in the Gulf of Oman from 15 to 19 March. About it reported Ministry of Defense of the People’s Republic of China.
“From March 15 to March 19, the navies of China, Iran, Russia and other states will conduct joint maritime exercises “Marine Security Belt 2023” in the Gulf of Oman,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Chinese Ministry of Defense noted that the joint exercises are designed to demonstrate the willingness of the participating countries to maintain security and ensure stability in the region.
Previously, the joint exercises of Russia, Iran and China under the name “Marine Security Belt” were held twice – in December 2019 and January 2022. In addition, the countries carried out joint activities in the Persian Gulf in August 2021 and in the northern part of the Indian Ocean in autumn 2022
From February 17 to February 26, 2023, in the coastal regions of the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal, passed joint exercises of Russia, Iran and South Africa, codenamed Mosi. According to TASS, the frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov, armed with Zircon hypersonic missiles, took part in them.
