Russia initiated a meeting of the UN Security Council on Nord Stream on July 11, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, wrote on his Telegram channel.

He announced “another blow” to the position of the Western countries, which believe that enough attention is being paid to the investigation of the sabotage at Nord Stream, and are sure that there is no point in attracting international efforts to identify the organizers and perpetrators.

He also said that Russian diplomats called for representatives of Denmark, Germany and Sweden to be invited to the meeting and to hear about the measures taken.

On September 26, there was a leak on one of the lines of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline in the exclusive economic zone of Denmark. The operating company Nord Stream AG reported a pressure drop on both lines of Nord Stream. Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov, speaking via video link at a meeting of the UN Security Council, said that the company is currently looking for options to restore the Nord Stream system, but it is impossible to estimate the time frame for restoring the system to work at the moment.

Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that Russia would definitely identify all those involved in the sabotage against the Nord Stream, and ordinary terrorists are not capable of an action of such complexity and scale. The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation initiated the initiation of a case on an act of international terrorism. As Reuters reported, a few hours after the explosion on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, a US Navy P-8A Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft flew near the place of sabotage.

Germany, Denmark and Sweden are investigating what happened on the gas pipelines. Moscow has repeatedly stated that Russian specialists were not allowed to participate in the process and called for an objective international investigation.
