Klimkin: Russia is making Ukraine a “suitcase without a handle” for Europe
Russia is now turning Ukraine into a “handleless suitcase” for Europe by targeting the former Soviet republic’s energy infrastructure. This statement was made by former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin in an interview with journalist Natalya Moseychuk.
“Look at the model of these shellings, what and how. It’s real now – to overwhelm the entire energy system, make it weaker, and make the whole of Ukraine like a suitcase without a handle for Europe,” said the Ukrainian diplomat.
He believes that Russia adheres to a certain strategy when striking at energy infrastructure, according to which Moscow can begin negotiations with Kiev, while the West will no longer be able to support Ukraine in the same way.
