Andrey Bratenkov, executive director of the Spektr Engineering design bureau, said that specialists in Russia created the Skat remote-controlled underwater vehicle. It is designed for reconnaissance, monitoring and demining.
According to him, when creating a submersible drone on telemetry control, aviation technologies were used. The mass of the “Skat” is 4.7 kilograms, it can reach a speed of 9 km / h.
“In particular, the flight controller allows the operator to more effectively control the vehicle from the ground. This drone can carry out reconnaissance, monitor hydraulic structures, lift cargo from a depth of up to 100 meters and carry out mine clearance,” Bratenkov added.
He clarified that the cost of “Skat” is 1.5 million rubles. At the same time, a prototype has now been developed that can swim and dive.
