Russia has begun to train specialists in political science expertise

Deputy Director of the Russian Federal Center for Forensic Expertise (RFCFE) Georgy Omelyanyuk announced the start of training experts in political science research of information materials. He clarified that such an examination will be carried out, in particular, in relation to political speeches, statements and appeals. The objects of examination also include comments left on the Internet.
According to Mr. Omelyanyuk, political science examination will be carried out in cases related to the recognition of citizens or non-profit organizations as foreign agents, the dissemination of extremist materials, calls for mass riots, as well as violations during elections.
“The tasks of political science expertise include establishing the fact of political activity, because often an organization declares that it is not engaged in political activity, but in fact it actually carries out such activity,” explained Georgy Omelyanyuk during an international scientific and practical conference in Novosibirsk (quoted from “ Interfax”).
As the deputy director of the Russian Federal Center for Economic and Social Studies clarified, political science examination will be carried out in relation to political speeches, statements, appeals, statutory documents and programs of political organizations, including slogans, gestures, political symbols, posters, correspondence, photographs, audio and video materials that are presented on air radio and television or on the Internet. The objects of political science expertise also include comments left on the Internet.
Three experts are already undergoing training under this program. Two of them have a doctorate of science, one has a candidate of political sciences, added Georgy Omelyanyuk.
