A ban on the publication of polls on the presidential election began to take effect in Russia
A ban on the publication of polls, forecasts and studies related to the presidential election came into effect in Russia on March 12. The corresponding norm is spelled out in the law “On Basic Guarantees of Electoral Rights and the Right to Participate in a Referendum of Citizens of the Russian Federation.”
The restriction begins to apply five days before the last day of voting and directly on election days – from March 12 to 17. This also applies to publications on the Internet.
The campaign period will continue until the first day of voting.
Let us remind you that in 2024, the Russian presidential elections will be held for the first time over three days – from March 15 to 17.
There will be four candidates on the ballot, arranged in alphabetical order: Vladislav Davankov from the New People party, Vladimir Putin is a self-nominated candidate, Leonid Slutsky is from the LDPR party, Nikolai Kharitonov is from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
More than 113 million ballot papers were printed for the presidential election.
