Russia handed over another complex “Iskander-M” to Belarus

The army of Belarus received another batch of Russian operational-tactical missile systems “Iskander-M”, reported on the website of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.
“The Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system is considered the best in the world in its class,” the report says.
The Belarusian servicemen began full independent operation of the first batch of Iskanders in February. As added to the Ministry of Defense, the complex can use missiles in conventional equipment and with a “special warhead.” Training in the use of such ammunition took place on the territory of the Russian Federation.
On March 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that, at the request of Minsk, Russian tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) would be deployed in Belarus. He drew an analogy with how the United States transfers nuclear weapons to its non-nuclear allies in Europe.
Defense Ministers of Russia and Belarus Sergei Shoigu and Viktor Khrenin signed documents in May that determine the procedure for keeping Russian tactical nuclear weapons in a special storage facility on the territory of Belarus. At the same time, on the transfer to Minsk of the Iskander-M complex, capable of using nuclear missiles, the Russian minister declared in April.
Shoigu explained the decision to send nuclear weapons to the neighboring republic by the activity of NATO nuclear missions in the European Union. On June 27, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced that most of the tactical nuclear weapons had already been delivered to the territory of the republic.
