President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the ANO “Russia – the Land of Opportunities” said that the country had “exhausted the limit on the revolution.” Russia has experienced enough revolutions in the last century, the head of state noted.
During the meeting, Alexander Savichev, a member of the Union of Tour Guides, told the President about the League of Guides project, devised at the Mayovka tourist rally in Pyatigorsk. “I hope this is a May Day celebration that will not lead to a revolution,” Vladimir Putin said in a joking manner. He added that this “word” “worries” him.
In pre-revolutionary Russia, Mayovkas were called meetings of revolutionary-minded workers, arranged outside the city on May 1. Such meetings were persecuted by the tsarist police.
