The Russian Embassy in Washington applied to the US presidential administration and the State Department with a demand to issue visas to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the entire delegation to participate in the 77th session of the UN General Assembly. About it told Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
“The embassy has already applied to the White House, the State Department with a demand to fulfill the obligations of the country on whose territory the UN headquarters is based, and to immediately issue visas to the minister and all members of the Russian delegation,” he said.
Antonov noted that the issue of the full participation of the Russian side in the UN General Assembly will be the central topic of his tomorrow’s visit to the State Department. The Russian side will continue to insist on ensuring the unimpeded entry of all diplomats participating in the UN General Assembly session, he added.
The 77th session of the General Assembly will be held from 13 to 27 September in New York, the Russian delegation will also entered Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Grigory Karasin, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vasily Nebenzya, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky and others.
