Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Maria Zabolotskaya said that Russia will convene a meeting of the UN Security Council on February 20 under the “Arria formula” on unilateral coercive measures in the framework of the fight against terrorism.
According to Zabolotskaya, the Russian side is convening a meeting of the UN Security Council member states under the “Arria formula” to discuss an important issue, namely the impact of unilateral coercive measures on the fight against terrorism. She clarified that the event will take place on February 20.
Separately, the diplomat emphasized that Russia attaches great importance to the harm that is caused to the capabilities of states to counter terrorism by unilateral coercive measures. Zabolotskaya emphasized that a number of developing countries face this serious problem on a daily basis.
