President Vladimir Putin said at the forum of interregional cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in Astana that the volume of trade between the countries in national currencies has “expanded noticeably.” The President also said that trade turnover between Russia and Kazakhstan from January to August increased by 7%.
“At the same time, the use of national currencies in export-import transactions has noticeably expanded,” said Vladimir Putin (quoted by TASS). At the end of last year, trade turnover with Kazakhstan increased by 10%, to $28.2 billion.
The President also touched upon the issue of mutual investments. According to him, the volume of Russian capital investments in the economy of Kazakhstan is slightly more than $17 billion. The volume of investments of Kazakhstan in the Russian economy is $4.6 billion. In addition, there are 6 thousand business structures with Russian capital in Kazakhstan, and the amount of those being implemented and planned for implementation joint projects are estimated at $36.5 billion.
Today, November 8, President Vladimir Putin arrived to Astana. At the Akorda residence of the head of Kazakhstan, he held an official meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. They discussed cooperation between countries, mainly in the field of agriculture.
