The Russian Federation does not object to the second extension of the Black Sea initiative, or grain deal, for the export of grain from the southern Ukrainian ports. At the same time, Moscow demands the implementation of the Russian part of the deal, as well as reducing the duration of the new stage of the agreement by half compared to the previous ones: from 120 days to “no more than 60”. This was announced on March 13 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin following the talks held in Geneva.
The UN consultations were attended by the head of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths, and the Secretary General of the Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Rebeca Greenspan.
