Russia accused Ukraine of creating problems in the grain deal

The Ukrainian side blocked the registration process for the grain deal concluded in Istanbul on July 22 last year. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova.
At first, Kyiv did not agree with Russia’s proposals, and then stopped checking the ships, the diplomat said. According to her, at the site of the Joint Coordination Center in Turkey, there were significant difficulties with inspections and registration of new ships.
In a comment by Maria Zakharova, it is said that the share of countries in need of receiving food from Ukraine has fallen to the lowest level: out of 28.3 million tons of exported grain, only 742 thousand (2.6%).
It is specified that the owners of “incoming” bulk carriers refused to pay bribes, so they have been idle waiting for registration for several months. The Ukrainians have lost interest in the “leaving” 27 ships with 1.2 million tons of cargo on board, since they received money from them. However, they also have to wait for inspection.
Order can be restored thanks to the registration of courts, carried out by Russia on the basis of appropriate powers and within the strict framework of the rules of procedure, the Russian diplomat argues.
It is a pity that Brussels did not understand that only food from Ukraine is exported via the Black Sea as part of the grain deal, Zakharova complains, adding that the United States of America is used to giving other states “valuable instructions” about their obligations, completely forgetting about their own.
The grain deal was attended by Türkiye, Ukraine, Russia and the United Nations. According to the document, a corridor should be provided for the transportation of the product from Odessa, Chernomorsk and the South Port (30 kilometers from Odessa).
