Rostov governor said that officials did not leave the city during the rebellion

The governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, said that during the June 24 rebellion he was in touch with President Vladimir Putin and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense. He noted that he did not know a single official who would have left Rostov-on-Don at that time.
“I reported to the president that the life support services are working, we are in order, the president wished good work,” Mr. Golubev told reporters (quotes “RIA News”).
The governor said that construction equipment and vehicles were damaged, which were placed in the way of the movement of columns of the Wagner Private Military Company. According to him, the authorities “lost the definition of the amount of equipment.” Some need to be restored, some cannot be restored. Mr. Golubev, answering a question about the restoration of roads, said: “It’s fine, everything is in order.”
On the night of June 24, in Rostov-on-Don, the Wagner PMC captured the headquarters of the Southern Military District. Yevgeny Prigozhin withdrew the forces of a private military company from the city after settlement situation through the mediation of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin condemned those civil servants who left Russia “at a difficult moment for the country” – against the background of the rebellion of PMC “Wagner”. According to him, this “should be punishable, among other things,” he asked to draw up lists of such civil servants.
