Rostelecom and VimpelCom increased revenue in the second quarter of 2023

Russian provider Rostelecom and telecommunications company VimpelCom presented IFRS financial results for the second quarter of 2023. Rostelecom’s revenue in April-June increased by 14% compared to the same period in 2022, to RUB 165 billion. VimpelCom – by 6.9%, to 73.8 billion rubles.
Rostelecom’s revenue for the first half of 2023 increased by 15% compared to the first half of 2022, to RUB 324.5 billion. The net profit of the provider in April-June decreased by 24.3% compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 9.5 billion rubles. Net profit of Rostelecom for the first half of 2023 increased by 18.1% compared to the same period a year earlier, amounting to 26.9 billion rubles.
Rostelecom’s revenue in the mobile communications segment (represented by the mobile operator Tele2) grew by 15% compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to RUB 120.1 billion. The subscriber base of Tele2 and Rostelecom at the end of 2022 increased by 13.1% year-on-year and amounted to 48.1 million subscribers.
Revenue of PJSC VimpelCom in the second quarter of 2023 amounted to 73.7 billion rubles, an increase of 6.9% compared to the same period last year. Service revenue also increased by 6.9% to RUB 68.1 billion. In the second quarter, the total base of mobile subscribers of Beeline (trademark of PJSC Vimpelcom) amounted to 44 million. Compared to the results of the second quarter of 2022, the indicator decreased by 6.4%.
