FAS in Primorye checks hotel prices on the eve of the EEF-2023 – Kommersant

The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service for the Primorsky Territory has begun checking prices for hotel services during the VIII Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2023) in Vladivostok, follows from a message on site departments. Control is being strengthened in order to “prevent unreasonable increases in prices for hotel services,” the antimonopoly authority emphasizes.
According to the OFAS, the inspection will also reveal abuses of a dominant position in the market, the presence of prohibited cartel, price collusion or concerted actions of market participants. Based on the results, warnings will be issued against violators, it is also possible to initiate antitrust cases.
WEF-2023 is scheduled for September 10-13. The forum will be held on the territory of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) on Russky Island in Vladivostok.
