Rostec reported a sevenfold increase in tank production

Over the year, Rostec increased tank production sevenfold. The head of the state corporation, Sergei Chemezov, announced this on air at Rossiya-24.

“We have increased significantly. <...> In just one year, tank production has increased sevenfold,” he said (quote according to TASS).

Chemezov clarified that the production of light armored vehicles, including infantry fighting vehicles, infantry fighting vehicles and armored vehicles, increased by 4.5 times, and artillery and MLRS by 2.5 times. According to him, the production of ammunition and some other types of weapons has been increased 60 times.

In March 2023, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev stated, that the consumption of ammunition in the conditions of a special operation has increased many times, called for an increase in their production. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu set the same task for enterprises. Already in July he reported about an increase in ammunition production by more than 10 times.

In addition, in August, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Rostec will increase the share of production of the latest weapons, including Lancet drones, T-90 Proryv tanks, etc. In response, Chemezov said that the state corporation is “just working on this.” A week later, Deputy General Director of the state corporation Vladimir Artyakov statedthat Rostec intends to multiply the production of Lancet drones.
