Several Rostec enterprises are switching to work in several shifts without summer holidays to fulfill the state defense order. This was announced by the industrial director of the arms cluster of the state corporation Bekhan Ozdoev. He did not name the exact number of enterprises.
“A number of enterprises, due to the increased workload, are switching to work in several shifts and refusing summer vacations in order to ensure the shipment of modern types of weapons and military equipment to the troops,” said Mr. Ozdoev (quoted by TASS).
Rostec owns, in particular, shares in AvtoVAZ, KamAZ, the United Aircraft Corporation, Russian Helicopters, Uralvagonzavod, Ruselectronics, and a 25% stake in the Kalashnikov concern. As of 2020, the total number of employees of the state corporation exceeded 589 thousand
In July, Vladimir Putin signed law on special measures in the economy. It allows the government to regulate labor relations to support military operations abroad. Special measures include, in particular, temporary reactivation of mobilization capacities and facilities, as well as procurement from a single supplier to fulfill the state defense order and to form reserves.
