Bekhan Ozdoev, director of the arms, ammunition and special chemicals industry cluster at the Rostec state corporation, told reporters from TASS about ongoing work on the development of a new powerful TOS-3 flamethrower system. According to him, the first prototype of this system has already been produced.
“The future tracked vehicle will be equipped with the latest launcher, which will increase the firing range and use new types of ammunition,” Ozdoev explained.
Earlier, the head of the Signal Research Institute, Vladimir Pimenov, noted that the accuracy of the TOS 1A Solntsepek system has increased significantly due to the introduction of a new guidance system. He also clarified that the Russian military turned to scientists with a request to develop technologies that would help reduce the time the TOC system spent in a combat position.
