Rostec announced plans to multiply the production of Lancet drones

Lancet drones are in great demand, and therefore Rostec intends to multiply the production of such weapons. This was announced by the first deputy general director of the state corporation Vladimir Artyakov at the Army-2023 forum in an interview with the Russia-24 TV channel.
“We have a new generation of kamikaze drones, this is the Lancet. Of course, it is in great demand, it is mass-produced. We are aimed at multiplying the output of these products,” said Artyakov (quote by Interfax).
He also expressed confidence that the need for these drones “will be very significant.” Artyakov added that over the past 1.5-2 years, the production of a number of ammunition has increased by 20-30 times, and armored vehicles by 4-5 times.
On August 7, at a meeting with the head of Rostec Sergey Chemezov, Russian President Vladimir Putin urged increase the share of production of the latest weapons, including Lancet drones. “It is necessary to increase the production of the latest types of weapons in percentage terms. <...> T-90 “Breakthrough”, aircraft systems. You know what it’s about. <..> Lancets and so on,” the head of state said. In response, Chemezov said that the state corporation was “just working on this.”
“Lancets” are widely used by the Russian Armed Forces as part of a special operation in Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense regularly reports on the destruction of enemy equipment by such drones. In particular, on August 13, the Lancet loitering ammunition hit the Paladin and Crab self-propelled artillery mounts in the areas of Seversk and the Shevtsov Yar beam.
