In Russia, the pace of production of operational-tactical missile systems (OTRK) “Iskander” and ammunition for them has significantly increased, informed First Deputy General Director of Rostec Vladimir Artyakov on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

“It is quite efficient, works very smoothly, accurately and reliably. Here we must note that the number of these launchers and ammunition has increased significantly,” Interfax quoted him as saying.

In addition, in Russia, the production of some models of tanks increased “tens of times”, as well as “tens and hundreds of times” – ammunition and shells.

In August, at the Army-2022 international military-technical forum, the Russian Ministry of Defense signed 29 government contracts with 26 enterprises worth more than 500 billion, including with the Kolomna Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering for the supply of missiles for the Iskander-M complexes. Shortly before this, the work of the enterprise inspected Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

The Iskander missile system has been developed since the late 1980s. and was adopted by the Russian forces in 2006. It is designed to destroy ground targets, including air defense and missile defense systems, command posts and communication centers, concentrations of troops and equipment, warships, etc.
