Rosstat stopped publishing data on oil production in Russia – Kommersant

In the summary of Rosstat on the situation in the industry for first quarter there is no data on oil production. The Statistical Office has not yet commented on this. In his statistics for January And February 2023, Rosstat published oil data, as well as December 2022there are also statistics on oil and gas production for the entire 2022.

In March, Rosstat reported that oil production, taking into account condensate in Russia in February 2023, decreased by 8.5% compared to January – to 42.1 million tons, and the average daily production in barrels increased by 1.3% and amounted to 11. 02 million barrels.

Data gas for March and the first quarter:

• in March natural gas produced 49.8 billion cubic meters. m, which is 15.3% less than in March 2022, but 6.4% more than in February 2023;
• 149 billion cubic meters were produced in the first quarter m, which is 14.1% less than in the same period in 2022;
• liquefied natural gas (LNG) produced 2.9 million tons, which is 2.8% less than in March 2022, but 13.5% more than in February 2023;
• in the first quarter, LNG production amounted to 8.0 mmt, down 7.2% compared to the same period in 2022.

Data for coal for March and the first quarter:

• In March 2023, 36.5 million tons of coal of all grades were mined, which is 2.8% less than in March 2022, but 3.5% more than in February 2023. In total, in the first quarter of 2023, 107 million tons of coal of all grades were mined. This is 2.5% less than in January-March 2022.
• Production of all types of hard coal (including anthracite, coking coal and other hard coal) in March 2023 amounted to 28.2 million tons, which is 5.8% less than in March 2022, but 3.3% more than in February 2023. In total, in the first quarter of 2023, it was produced 81.8 million tons, which is 6.2% less than in the same period in 2022.
• Anthracite production amounted to 2.1 million tons, which is 7.2% less than in March 2022, but 11.7% more than in February 2023. Anthracite production in the first three months of 2023 decreased by 10.6% compared to January-March 2022, amounting to 6.1 million tons.
• Coking coal production amounted to 8.3 million tons, which is 1.3% less than in March 2022 and 5.1% less than in February 2023. In general, in the first quarter of 2023, coking coal production decreased by 1.3% compared to the same period in 2022, amounting to 24.9 million tons.

Data for oil products for March and the first quarter: the production of coke and petroleum products in March 2023 increased by 9.3% compared to March 2022. Compared to February 2023, an increase of 11.4%. In the first three months of 2023, the production of coke and petroleum products increased by 2.7% compared to January-March 2022.

For the first quarter, industrial production volumes decreased by 0.9% compared to January-March 2022. The material for March says that the volume of industrial production in March 2023 increased by 1.2% compared to the same period in 2022, compared to February 2023, an increase of 13.4% was recorded.

In April 2023, Russia and seven other countries announced on a voluntary reduction in oil production until the end of 2023. We are talking about the period from May to the end of 2023. Russia, in particular, will cut production by 500 thousand barrels per day.
