Rosselkhoznadzor asked Armenia to suspend supplies of dairy products

The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) asked the Armenian Veterinary Service to suspend the supply of dairy products to Russia from April 5. About it reported in the press service of the Russian department.
“Given the results of the negotiations and the unsatisfactory results of the inspection <...> Rosselkhoznadzor appealed to the veterinary service of Armenia with a request to suspend certification of dairy products to Russia from all enterprises in the country from April 5, 2023,” the report says.
The Rosselkhoznadzor added that the possibility of resuming the supply of products from Armenia will be discussed after the Armenian veterinary service has carried out work to eliminate the identified violations.
March 28 service spent inspection of dairy products supplied from Armenia to the Russian Federation. According to information received from the Armenian side, the republic’s enterprises use raw materials produced by Iranian enterprises, in respect of which the Rosselkhoznadzor has already introduced restrictions earlier.
“The nature of the identified violations also indicates the lack of proper control by the state veterinary service over the activities of dairy processing enterprises, which raises the risk of low-quality and unsafe products being imported into Russia,” the press service said at the time.
