Roskomnadzor blocked the website of the “NeMoscow Speaks” project, which talks about events in Russian regions. As the publication itself stated, the department did not name the reasons for restricting access to the site.

“Roskomnadzor notified us that the NeMoskva website was blocked. We weren’t even informed about exactly which of our publications contradict current Russian legislation,” says a message on the project’s Telegram channel.

The project “Not Moscow Speaks” was launched by a team of independent journalists from Russia in October 2022. Its editor-in-chief was Viktor Muchnik, who headed the Tomsk news channel TV-2, locked in March 2022 due to materials about Ukraine.

According to the service Pr-Cy, in February 2024, the website https://nemoskva.net was visited by approximately 205 thousand users, and was viewed about 10.5 thousand times daily. The Telegram channel of the “NeMoscow Speaks” project has more than 39 thousand subscribers, the YouTube channel has 70.3 thousand subscribers.
