Rosgvardia detained two ZNPP employees who collaborated with the Ukrainian military

The servicemen of the Russian Guard have identified two employees of the Zaporozhye NPP who collaborated with the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), reported department press office. It is specified that they transmitted information to the Ukrainian military about the location of personnel and equipment on the territory of the station.
“The servicemen of the Russian Guard stopped illegal actions that threatened the safety of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. During special targeted events, they detained two employees of the nuclear power plant, who were transmitting information to the Armed Forces of Ukraine about the location of personnel and equipment on the territory of the plant itself. A violator of the access regime was also detained – an accomplice of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who transmitted the coordinates of the movement of columns of Russian equipment, ”the message says. At the same time, it is emphasized that the actions of the detainees were a threat to the safety of the station.
The Russian Guard reminded that the Zaporozhye NPP came under the protection of the department on March 4, since then 26 violators of the access control have been detained. They also stressed that the station is now operating as normal.
In the course of a special military operation, the Russian Armed Forces were able to take control of a part of the Zaporozhye region of Ukraine, including Energodar, where the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of units and installed capacity, the ZNPP, is located. Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine are regularly shelling Energodar, the surrounding villages and the territory of the ZNPP adjacent to the city.
On August 23, at the request of Russia, an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council was held on the situation at the ZNPP. Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that Russia had distributed photographic evidence of shelling of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant by Ukraine in the UN Council and the General Assembly. He also noted that since the last meeting of the Security Council on ZNPP on August 11, the situation with nuclear safety at the plant has deteriorated greatly.
