Rosenergoatom reported on ongoing shelling of Zaporizhzhya NPP by Ukraine

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) continue to shell the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, albeit with less intensity. This was announced by the adviser to the general director of the Rosenergoatom concern of the state corporation “Rosatom» Renat Karchaa on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel.
“Shooting has become much less, and thank God … the savagery lies in the fact that it is impossible to shoot at all. The fire is disturbing today. These orgy, artillery hysterics, the last of which was at the very end of November, they have not been there all this time, ”he said (cit. according to RIA Novosti).
Karchaa noted that nuclear power plant employees and their families continue to receive threats from Ukraine. The day before, January 12, in the Kremlin called the situation around the Zaporozhye NPP is alarming.
Russia has controlled the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant since the end of February, since then the plant and the city of Energodar, in which it is located, have been subjected to regular shelling from Ukraine. In early October, after the Zaporozhye region became part of Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to take the plant facilities into federal ownership and create the Zaporozhye NPP FSUE to ensure the safety of nuclear facilities.
