On Saturday evening, the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin, after negotiations with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, announced his refusal to move further to Moscow and began to return Wagner fighters to field camps. It is known that Prigogine was offered a compromise solution to the issue, which made it possible to resolve the conflict points. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a telephone conversation, thanked his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko for the work done to resolve the situation around the Wagner PMC.
Dmitry Peskov reported that the criminal case of an armed rebellion against the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin would be dropped. He also noted that the situation around PMC “Wagner” will not affect the course of the NMD. Prigozhin himself will leave for Belarus.
The criminal case against Prigozhin became known last night. Under article 279 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on organizing an armed rebellion, he was threatened with 12 to 20 years in prison.
