Rosaviatsia asked airlines not to fly some planes abroad – Kommersant

Russian air carriers received a telegram from the Federal Air Transport Agency with a recommendation not to fly abroad on planes of the State Transport Leasing Company (STLC), which is under sanctions of the European Union and the United States, due to the risk of their arrest. The airlines reported this with reference to anonymous interlocutors. RBC and Telegram channel “Aviatorism”.

According to an RBC source, the telegrams were sent to airlines with “a small fleet of aircraft without double registration.” In total, three Russian air carriers confirmed receipt of the document with the recommendation, according to RBC. The risk of arrest, according to another source of the publication, is present in fifty Airbus and Boeing five companies. Among them are Aeroflot, Rossiya, S7, ATK Yamal and Aurora.

RBC adds that today, September 29, the Ministry of Transport is scheduled to hold a meeting regarding the risks that have arisen.

The S7 press service also said that departures for flights Irkutsk-Bangkok, Novosibirsk-Dubai and Moscow-Urgench have been postponed until 00:00 on September 30. The airline added that passengers were provided with meals and accommodation in hotels, and were also being transferred to alternative available flights where possible. “The airline is awaiting permission from the Russian authorities to operate some international flights. Until official permission is received, departures of these flights are postponed,” the press service of the S7 company reported.

In February last year, foreign leasing companies started to recall aircraft from Russia due to the ban imposed by the European Union and the United States on the supply of airliners and spare parts to the country. The Federal Air Transport Agency then recommended that carriers with leased aircraft in their fleet not fly abroad. In March, Russian authorities accepted a law allowing such airliners to obtain a second registration.

The day before, as Rostec explained, hackers tried to stop air transportation in Russia. The domestic Leonardo reservation system experienced a glitch – the program was subjected to a powerful DDoS attack from abroad.
