Russian troops have seized the strategic initiative in the Zaporozhye region and are conducting reconnaissance in force. About it informed Vladimir Rogov, member of the main council of the regional administration, to the RIA Novosti agency.

“Now there is mainly reconnaissance in force. The strategic initiative is in our army,” he said.

Rogov clarified that “these are local maneuvers.” According to him, the “general offensive” of the Russian army in the region is still ahead.

Last week, the official reported on the increased military activity in the Zaporozhye direction. Horns declaredthat the Russian military launched a local offensive on January 19. Then he added that four settlements in the Zaporozhye region had passed under the control of the Russian Federation. On January 21, an official said that in a day the Russian army advanced in the region for 7 km.

January 23 Rogov informedthat Russian troops have moved the line of fire away from settlements in the region. The next day, he announced that the front line was gradually shifting to the north of the region.
