ROE invited the countries of the Middle East to participate in the creation of the Checkmate fighter

Director General of Rosoboronexport (ROE) Alexander Mikheev suggested that the Middle Eastern countries jointly create weapons, including Su-75 Checkmate fighters.
“Today we are actively working on proposals on the most relevant forms of partnership for the Middle Eastern states, primarily related to technology transfer, joint development and the use of offset programs. ROE is considering options for the joint creation of modern high-tech products, including a fifth-generation fighter based on the Checkmate light tactical aircraft,” said Mr. Mikheev (quoted by RIA Novosti).
In August 2022, Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov informed on preparations for the production of the first prototypes of the fighter. The first flight of the fighter is scheduled for 2024. The fighter was presented at the MAKS-2021 air show in July 2021. In February of this year, TASS, citing a source informedthat the Russian delegation will discuss the possibility of cooperation with India at the Aero India 2023 air show – it was, in particular, about Checkmate. The air show runs from 13 to 17 February.
