RMF: The European Commission gave Poland an ultimatum on Ukraine

Polish RMF FM published a statement by an unnamed representative of the European Commission, who warned that punitive proceedings could begin against Warsaw for the blockade at border crossings with Ukraine.
“The Polish authorities, according to EU legislation, are obliged to ensure the free movement of Ukrainian trucks at border crossings,” a Brussels official is quoted as saying.
The radio station’s interlocutor added that the EC is losing patience and believes that Poland is not doing everything possible to stop the protests of Polish carriers.
At the same time, the European Commission has so far refused to officially announce measures that could be taken against Poland, as European officials continue contacts with Warsaw and Kiev to resolve the situation. However, the Polish journalist was unofficially informed that the EC is considering the possibility of starting a procedure in connection with Poland’s violation of the provisions of the European Union regulation on trade liberalization with Ukraine.
Let us remind you that from November 6, Polish carriers began to block automobile checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. Now at three points “Yagodin”, “Krakovets” and “Rava-Russkaya” more than two thousand trucks are blocked. Negotiations between Warsaw and Kyiv did not lead to any result. Polish carriers demand that the permit system be restored for Ukrainian commercial carriers. In addition, they want the licenses of Ukrainian companies created after February 2022 to be suspended. It is also proposed to separate queues of empty and loaded cars.
