The press service of Roskomnadzor published a message in which it recalled that from March 1, 2023, a number of Russian organizations are prohibited from using foreign services Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber, Discord to transfer payment documents or provide information containing personal data of Russians or data on money transfers. and a number of others.
As indicated in the message of the RKN, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Skype for business, Snapchat, Telegram, Threema, Viber, WhatsApp, WeChat can be attributed to such services.
“We ask Russian organizations to take into account the new circumstances when planning their activities,” the agency addresses organizations that provide relevant public services or are involved in the implementation of a state task.
The norm that entered into force today directly states that when providing public services, fulfilling a state or municipal task, it is prohibited to use foreign messengers. The ban also applies to companies with state participation and financial institutions.
