Russian sappers began to mine the flanks of positions in the Lugansk People’s Republic in case of a breakthrough by sabotage and reconnaissance groups. Video footage of the work of airborne sappers under the cover of scouts was at the disposal of RIA Novosti.
The commander of the squad with the call sign Boroda specified that anti-personnel mines are used for the obstacles. “With the help of machine tools, we are now shooting cassettes, they will go into operation, this is also working, POM-2 fragmentation mines on stretch marks, only by remote means,” the sapper specified.
When laying mines, engineer-sapper squads go beyond the line of defense, towards the enemy, in order to set up barriers on the most likely routes of approach for saboteurs. That is why the cover of sappers is organized.
