RIA Novosti: Russia has increased the production of Krasnopol shells because of NATO tanks

In Russia, for the needs of the Northern Military District, the production of guided artillery shells has increased several times. As a source told RIA Novosti, these tanks can be effective in destroying Abrams and Leopard tanks.
“In 2022, Russian defense enterprises increased the production of Krasnopol high-precision guided artillery shells of 152 mm caliber for barreled artillery howitzers by several times,” the agency’s interlocutor specified.
According to him, the pace of such production will grow even this year.
“Krasnopol” allows you to hit single small targets of the enemy, the source said. He added that we are talking about both mobile – tanks – and static ones.
The RF Armed Forces use 152mm Krasnopol guided artillery shells. These ammunition are equipped with a semi-active laser homing head. They are aimed at the laser beam reflected from the target.
Correction during approach is performed by aerodynamic rudders.
“Krasnopol” has a direct hit on the object, its deviation from the aiming line is no more than two meters. “Krasnopol-M” can hit objects at a distance of 25 km.
