Reuters: Finland will expand its ability to transfer troops to the border with Russia

The completion of the electrification project for the railway line connecting northern Finland with Sweden will facilitate the rapid deployment of NATO forces to the Russian border. This opinion is expressed by Reuters.
The agency clarifies that the improvement of the Finnish railways around Tornio on the border with Sweden will make it easier for the alliance allies to send reinforcements and equipment from across the Atlantic to Kemijärvi, an hour from the Russian border and seven hours from the Russian nuclear bastion and military bases near Murmansk on the Kola Peninsula.
Earlier, the former head of the North Atlantic Alliance, Anders Rasmussen, said that NATO members can send troops to Ukraine. He also warned that even if a group of states provided security guarantees to Ukraine, others would not allow Ukraine’s future NATO membership to be taken off the agenda in Vilnius.
However, some experts believe that the next confrontation between Russia and the West may not take place in Ukraine, but in the Arctic. According to Bloomberg, NATO expansion and joining the alliance of Finland and perhaps Sweden will have an impact on the region, as Russia will be the only non-alliance Arctic power.
