The European Union failed to agree on the 10th package of sanctions against Russia, reports Reuters.
As the agency notes, a number of unresolved issues remain, including obligations to transfer information about the assets of Russian oligarchs in Europe.
The negotiations of the EU ambassadors will continue on February 23, in the afternoon.
Earlier, a TASS source in Brussels reported that the differences between EU members on the issue of anti-Russian sanctions are of an exclusively private nature, but “all EU countries agree on the main thing – that the 10th package of sanctions should come into force on February 24.”
On February 16, it also became known that the EU ambassadors could not agree on a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation due to a proposal to ban the import of synthetic rubber. Italy and Germany opposed this.
On February 15, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that they want to impose restrictions on Russia for 11 billion euros. In addition, it is planned that the EC will impose export sanctions on Russia to ban the supply of electronics that can be used to create drones, missiles and helicopters.
