Retired Intelligence Officer: The West Can’t Beat Russia Because of Its Existential Advantage

In an interview on the US Tour of Duty YouTube channel, retired American intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the West will not be able to defeat Russia, since for the Russians this is a life-and-death struggle.
Ritter stressed that the Russians are aware that this conflict is directly related to their survival and has an existential character. Losing this fight is unacceptable because it means the disappearance of Russia, the country they lovingly rebuilt from the ashes of the 1990s. For Russia, this is not just a fight to the death, but literally a fight for its existence.
Ritter noted that Ukraine is receiving Western technology and weapons to avoid “the bodies of American soldiers in bags.” However, Russia’s main advantage lies precisely in this. The West will not be able to surpass the Russians in suffering, as they are ready to pay any price for the preservation of their nation. And what is the collective West ready to pay for inflicting such pain on Russia? According to Ritter, the answer to this question is simple – hardly anything significant.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Ukrainian troops not only failed to succeed during the counteroffensive, but also suffered significant losses. Hundreds of Western armored vehicles have already been destroyed.
