There is no deadline for restrictions on fuel exports, said presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov. According to him, the ban will remain in effect as long as necessary.
“The government has repeatedly noted that there is no deadline here. The ban will continue as necessary. As soon as this need disappears, other measures will be considered,” Mr. Peskov said during a press call.
In September the government introduced temporary restrictions on the export of motor gasoline and diesel fuel to stabilize the domestic market. The Ministry of Energy said that the export ban introduced indefinitely. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak publicly focused on the fact that the embargo made it possible to reduce wholesale fuel prices. However, at the meeting the day before, October 4, no decision was made to ease the ban.
