Sberbank has launched the sale of diamonds for investment and jewelry, the press service of the credit institution reported. They said that several people had already purchased the precious stones. The bank clarified that clients with premium service packages can buy diamonds. Moreover, if after acquisition the gemstone was not left for safekeeping with the manufacturer, then upon resale it will have to be re-examined.

They can embellish the characteristics of the stone a little, or leave something unsaid. As a result, a diamond in the middle price category will have to be purchased at a high price.
Sberbank is still a name. In addition, the client always has somewhere to come and make claims. Of course, there will be demand for this service.
I always like such steps, because it stimulates competition and our development.
So, we’ll figure out how we can still attract customers with price, quality, service, service, and so on.
Sber’s offer will be of interest to people who plan to invest money in this way. Also, perhaps they will make jewelry and not just view diamonds as investment stones.

Sberbank explained that precious stones have more complex pricing than gold; in particular, when evaluating them, not only weight, but also shape, color and quality are important.
Diamonds as an investment instrument can be considered a win-win for a long-term investment, said expert at Expo-Jeweler magazine Viktor Subbotin:
“Investing in diamonds is a pretty good decision along with precious metals.
Natural stones show stable growth from year to year, and investors almost always see positive dynamics.
Yes, there is a correlation with the dollar exchange rate in this regard, but still, diamonds have never become cheaper in their entire history.
However, in the current conditions it is very difficult to predict the profitability of such investments. Growth can be guaranteed, but how much it will be year-on-year is difficult to predict. For example, for gold it was around 20%. The diamonds are in the same corridor.”
In 2022, amendments to the Tax Code were adopted, establishing a zero VAT rate for the purchase of diamonds from banks. At the end of September 2023, the Ministry of Finance advocated an indefinite extension of this decision.
