Having won a majority in the US House of Representatives, the Republicans intend to carefully control the spending of military aid by Ukraine and will try to shift the focus of US foreign policy to China. This may slow down the receipt of new military-financial support for Kyiv, experts say
The Republican Party of the United States on November 17 overcame the bar in the required 218 seats to obtain a majority in the House of Representatives of Congress. This is evidenced by the published forecasts of television companies CNN and NBC. According to the latter, the Republicans now secure 221 seats out of 435. The Democrats so far get 214 seats in the lower house of Congress, and previously they retained control of the Senate (50 seats plus the decisive vote of Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris). Republicans won a decisive victory in the House of Representatives in California, where Congressman Mark Garcia was able to be re-elected in one of the districts. US President Democrat Joe Biden congratulated the Republicans on obtaining a majority in the House of Representatives and announced his readiness to interact with them.
