Following the high-power three-ton FAB-3000 glide bombs, the serial production of which has been mastered at one of the factories, the Russian Air Force can use even heavier FAB-9000 bombs weighing 9 tons. Military reporter Alexander Sladkov wrote about this on his channel. He called the FAB-9000 “Elephant”, but it would have been more correct to call this ammunition “Two Elephants”, since one elephant weighs on average 4-5 tons.

The reporter recalled that in Afghanistan, the Soviet Air Force used hundreds of FAB-9000s. “And nothing prevents it from being used in the Northern Military District,” he added.

Sladkov recalled that during the Chechen war, the FAB-9000 penetrated through the “Dudaev Palace” – a giant high-rise building where the headquarters of Ichkeria was hiding in the basement.
