A group of senators submitted a relevant bill to the State Duma
To take care of all family members of military personnel who were captured or interned as hostages in a neutral country or are missing, the Russian parliamentarians suggested. The corresponding bill was submitted to the State Duma by a group of senators of the Russian Federation.
As it became known to MK, today the family members of a captured or missing military man, up to the full clarification of the circumstances of his capture, internment or release, recognizing him as missing in the manner prescribed by law or declaring him dead, receive his salary. But this rule does not apply to those family members who did not live with the serviceman, but received alimony, that is, they were actually dependent on him. Thus, when a soldier is captured, they are deprived of a valuable source of income.
With the adoption of the amendment proposed by the senators to the Federal Law “On the monetary allowance of military personnel and the provision of certain payments to them,” this injustice will be corrected. In the event of the disappearance of the breadwinner, they will be able to count on the payment of alimony until his release, recognition as missing or dead. This rule will apply not only to children who did not live with him, but also to parents, spouses and other family members – for example, disabled adult children.
