Today, August 30, it became known that the rebels in Niger terminated all agreements with France in the field of security. This was reported by Al Jazeera TV channel.

We are talking, in particular, about the suspension by the military council of an African state of an agreement on the presence of French troops on the territory of Niger. The rebels gave France a period of one month to withdraw their troops from the country.

Earlier it was reported that supporters of the coup d’état held demonstrations near the French military base in Niamey, during which demands were put forward for the French authorities to free Niger from French military forces.

In addition, on August 25, the rebels demanded that the French ambassador in Niger leave their country.

Recall that on the night of July 27, the presidential guard organized a rebellion. The military announced the removal of Niger’s President Mohamed Bazum from power and the transfer of control of the country to the National Council for the Salvation of the Motherland. At the same time, a number of agreements on military cooperation with France were terminated.
