RBC: the authorities are discussing a one-time fee from companies with a profit of more than 1 billion rubles.

One-time business contributions to the budget can be registered in the Tax Code as a fee, sources said. RBC. According to them, it can be extended to companies with an average profit in 2021-2022 above 1 billion rubles. One of the interlocutors of the publication said that the voluntariness of the payment under discussion “in this case is expressed by the consolidated consent to its payment by the leading business associations.”

According to RBC, the formula for calculating the fee from business is now being discussed. In particular, it is being studied what kind of profit to take into account – net or pre-tax. “We are talking about the fee established in the Tax Code, which is of a universal nature – everyone will have to pay it, except for SMEs,” said the source of the publication in the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. The measure will not include the oil and gas sector, for which the taxation scheme has recently changed.

Since the beginning of February, the authorities have been discussing with businesses about voluntary contributions to the budget from income for 2022. Ministry of Finance counts to collect 300 billion rubles with the help of this measure. Office reportedthat the initiative will be implemented through tax amendments – “this participation will be in the form of fees from businesses from a part of the increase in financial results in recent years.”
